Hi everyone, I’m Rick here or otherwise known as “R2Rick” and I’m a simple aspiring singer from Subang Jaya who's of mix Eurasian decent. I am here to day to share a small story about a dreamer who once dream of being a "Rock Star". Though, it took him a really long time to finally decide but in the end he just woke up one day and said lets do this whole music thing.
I got involved “Semi Professionally” in the current entertainment scene about a year ago (though I was already playing music and singing since young. Always had that Rock & Roll “Bon Jovi” dream) but I still consider myself being a newbie. Though I may not claim to know it all but I do have had my fair share of minimal experience with regards to making music; particularly English songs.
Currently for me, (though I'm far from being a Rock Star yet !) I still consider this whole involvement in making music as one big social experiment. So, I haven't figured out in which direction I’m actually heading too. For now, I’m just going with the flow and enjoying the experience of actually doing it.
To date, I have dabbled being a singer, songwriter and have done a number of showcases, charity events, performances and live interviews on TV and Radio; notably on RTM, TraxxFM & Fly FM.
My latest single “Hot Streak” is an international collaboration between well-known award winning local remix producer – Syko-G and American composers Shirley Goines and Christina Meyers. This “Pop Dance” tune came on air on 27th March on Hitz fm and subsequently on the 19th April made its debut into the Hitz Malaysian English Top 10 Charts at No.7 (I was so shocked and ecstatic when I first heard it. I mean seriously, I can’t believe at times since I am actually unknown local singer)
