Last night I decided to watch a movie and so I switched off my brain to music for awhile and decided to go with something funny and ended watching " The longest yard" an Adam Sandler movie. And fell asleep rather early.
So I woke up fresh and was ready for some action on a #Sunday. To my surprise, my partner in crime suggested that we head out to Mid Valley to catch the last day of this "Animal Show" exhibition and though I was not keen, I though hey? Why not!
So after church services, we went straight there and lucky for us (though there was a massive jam at Mid Valley) we were able to get parking space.
We were there almost 1pm and once there we were greeted to a pretty big crowd who came in full force. Many of them were seen bringing along their pet dogs and there were like a whole assortment of freakishly cute and cuddly toy dogs. Some of them came in their own "Doggy prams" and "Doggy Trollys" and "Doggy Bags". Others were either seen being leashed into the exhibition hall or carried like babies !!!
There was a cover charge fee of about RM 5 at the entrance and I thought it was not to bad seeing that there were kinda lots going on there. Besides the numerous different kinda of exhibits ranging from pet stores, pet food, pet accessories and actual pets, there were also fun activities taking place. There was a stage show for a whole bunch of Alaskan Huskies ( these guys are big and they look a little like wolves but their bark is kinda whimpering! hehehehe). There was also a Dog endurance contest and also a cat contest.
I actually had fun goofing around all these animals. Besides the normal dogs and cats, there were also some exotic ones as well; they had these cute little "Sugar Gliders", " Giant Tarantulas spiders", A whole bunch of bugs and lizards and best of all they had my favorite "Parrots" !!!
There were volunteers fro SPCA and PAWS who were there to promote the plight of their abandon animals and some of them were also up for free adoption. I so close to adopting a cute little cat but I to rethink my decision as having a pet is no easy joke. It's a big responsibility and for people like us who are always busy, It's better for us to actually sponsor an animal in terms of cash so as to help these charity centres to continue to maintain these poor little animals.
The guys running the Parrot booth were the coolest as they had on standby a Polaroid camera service to shoot some professional photo shots. These cost like about RM 10 each and I thought the price was ok and besides they seem like pros to me :)
It was all in all a great experience and we spend a good 3 hours there and finally my tummy needed to ;be filled with food and so we decided to grab a bite. I kinda forgot the outlets name but they did serve a pretty decent bowl or curry mee though!
After our lunch, we decided to hang at the ground floor below (centre court ) cause they were having this Raya theme display in all its glory and the deco was just fabulous. It had authentic wooden houses designs that came with actual old school street lamps and some cool old school antic cars and bikes. It was something like a blast from the past sort of thing; relieving the days of old and yonder!
Beautiful setting!
After a while of capturing a whole bunch of selfies, we decided to head on back cause it was almost late evening and I wanted to leave just in case there was jam! ( I know it's a Sunday but sometimes you never know!!)
The end result is me sitting here updating you guys on my little Sunday excursion. No big deal actually but it is a refreshing to me especially since I have been spending a whole lot of time in my studio recently (no life!!!) and I feel I should do this every Sunday as a break to my otherwise very routine lifestyle.
So stay tune to my next session in "What I did on Sunday" - which I hope to update and share with you guys :)
Till then, have a great night ahead :)
